Tunnel Hollrich, Tunnel Langenau

construction method: reconstruction; tunnel enlargement and reconstruction of single faced walls and vault segments

company: Baresel GmbH

year: 2012

description: Tunnel “Langenau “with its length of 232 meters and tunnel “Hollrich” with its length of 319 meters were both built in the year 1860. They are approximately 1000 meters apart. After a time of about 150 years, they both now showed signs of age-related damage. Therefore it was decided upon a reconstruction of both tunnels. In order to meet today’s specifications for reconstruction, it was necessary to enlarge the tunnel cross-section by two meters and to renew the complete concrete inner shell. The construction of the new tunnel inner shells was done by means of a Noe Top wall formwork. Mooser formwork vibrators were mounted with the “STA mounting clamp” and formwork specific Noe Top adaptors onto the cross beams of the Noe Top formwork. In order to use the vibrators also in combination with an arched wooden formwork, the formwork specific adaptors of the STA clamp were removed so that this clamp could directly be mounted onto the formwork timber beams. Mooser vibrators were also operated for the tunnel constructions “Kupfereck” and “Frauenberg”, which are situated at the same DB railway line.
