reconstruction tunnel Dietrichkogel

project: reconstruction Dietrichkogel Tunnel

construction method: bored tunnel construction,  construction of new concrete inner shells for the tunnel walls and vaults

company: Strabag AG

year: 2013

At the state road B115 in “Steiermark” in Austria the tunnel construction Dietrichkogel had to be basically reconstructed. The old concrete inner-shell had to be removed and replaced by a new concrete inner-shell. The construction of the inner shell was divided into two sections. For the tunnel cap and the tunnel walls, individual formwork systems were manufactured in nailed truss construction. The wooden formwork system was equipped with Mooser pneumatic external vibrators for concrete compaction, which had been mounted onto solid wood beams near to the formwork skin. Wall thicknesses up to 1.0m could be securely compacted from one side, resulting in excellent concrete surfaces.
